Yesterday I watched the neighbors spend all day raking and bagging leaves while I sipped on my morning coffee, and as the day continued, then my afternoon coffee as well. My assumption was, I could do everything they did (in 8 hours) in less than an hour and half with my recent purchase of the Homelite Blower Vac 2 Speed. I wanted to put that to the test being that I already had an exhausting week as well as wanting to catch some much need relaxation time on the couch prior to the 7pm start time for World Series Game 5.
This quick guide to leaf blowing will help you start and finish this yearly task in a fraction of the time. Our yard has a slight decline heading south so I set the blower to the 220 mph setting and headed in that direction. Thirty minutes later (still 2 hours prior to the World Series Game 5) starting, I finished blowing all the leaves down our 1/2 acre back yard.
The last remaining task was to switch the blower into vacuum mode and bag the leaves. This process was also made easy thanks to the vacuum bag provided by the Homelite Blower Vac 2 Speed. One hour later I had completed the vacuuming of both wet and dry leaves and had them bagged ready for disposal which left 30 minutes to shower and fire up the grill for the start of the World Series Game 5.
All in all, because of the outcomes mentioned above, I highly recommend investing in the Homelite Blower Vac 2 Speed ($60 Blower at the time of purchase) in exchange for the saved time. Not to mention less headaches from twigs and other sharp items being left behind so the bags don’t rip and are easier to discard of.
One thing to note is a did have a 100 ft extension cord on hand which made the process a lot easier than having to unplug and plug in again on each side of the home. It is an additional expense, but if you can afford it, it will enable you to fly through the process with little to nothing in your way!
