If you haven’t stopped by the amazing AND locally owned Utilitarian Workshop in Kansas City, you need to. The space lives on the motto “Made By Us: For Us: Rejoice.” Utilitarian Workshop nabbed a spot just last week on buzzworthy local blog Finding KC’s list of 12 Kansas City Companies That Won’t Stand for Soul Sucking Work Days. For good reason. The shoppe will not stand for the regular, the ordinary. Utilitarian Workshop is like no other shop in Kansas City, and you have got to at least pop in soon, but I bet it won’t be your last trip.
Run by awesome local designers and all around radical individuals, Nicole Williams and John Anderson the Utilitarian Workshop features designers and their handmade work that are always changing.
The shoppe offers everything from re-purposed leather key chains to flannel shirts and old school flags. Besides their unique selection of handmade work, Utilitarian workshop does custom woodwork and design.
The work Utilitarian Workshop showcases does not just come from the awesome local artists, but around the country. When you stop by, you will see work from artists from both coasts and everywhere in between.
