Disclaimer: I LOVE TARGET. I could literally spend hours (and $ hundreds) in Target. Every time I stop in, I always take a quick peek at the clearance section for home décor. Sometimes it’s bare and nothing catches my eye, but there is the occasional deal that I can’t pass up.
Last week I stopped in on my lunch hour and came across this table in the college dorm décor section.
Although the crazy neon colors are kind of hard to get past, the price tag of $10.00 was not. I snatched it up and my mind immediately started reeling…a little spray paint and this thing would be a perfect accent table in my living room.
This piece was perfect for a little makeover because the top simply unscrewed from the base for easy painting. I decided to paint the wire base a brushed nickel and the top a bright white. Did I mention how much I love spray paint? So easy!
(sorry for the absolutely terrible photo quality…I had to do this in the garage because of rain)
The base was actually reallllllllly hard to paint. The bright greenish yellow showed right through and the thin wires were hard to get good coverage on. I ended up using 1 and half cans of the nickel spray paint. I painted the top white on both sides (no photos of this…got too carried away and didn’t take many pictures).
I’m so happy with the final product! Such a cute little addition to my living room and for only $10! Can’t beat that! J
