These DIY Coasters on a Dime rock your style without rocking your bank account.
Materials:
- Tiles: .89 cents @ the hardware store. Of course I just have some laying around from a moment I thought “I could use those at some point.”
- Mod Podge
- Sponge Applicator
- Sealer: Waterproof Spray Acrylic
- Felt
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
- Photos
- Give yourself enough time to let all adhesive dry completely.
Step 1: Clean your tiles, wipe away any tiny particles that could interrupt the adhesive.
Step 2: Cut your photos. I used 3.5in X 3.5in since I was using 4x4inch tiles. You can the size you want depending on how much of the tile to create a boarder you want to show.
Step 3: Using the Sponge Applicator, lightly coat the back of your photo with the Mod Podge and place it on the tile. Let dry completely.
Step 4: Once dry completely cover the photo with the Mod Podge using a horizontal motion. Let them dry over night before applying the sealant.
Step 5: Cut you felt into tiny squares or circles (your preference) to create 4 pieces of felt for each coaster and attach them to the bottom of coaster using your hot glue gun.
Step 6: After your Mod Podge has completely dried (wait till the next day), spray each coaster with the sealant to complete your project. This provides a waterproof barrier to insure longevity of your coasters.
Let dry overnight and you’re done!
