A highlight of the Labor Day weekend for me was seeing The Elders rock the stage on the last night of the Kansas City Irish Fest. This band gets you up on your feet and jigging along. Not only that, but they have such a loyal following that the audience helps make the show. In many a song, audience members put their arms around each other and swayed like they were an a bar with their buddies, or punched the air at a designated point. The audience was as lit up as the Western Auto sign beaming behind the stage and the concert felt like a party. All around, a great time and a fantastic way to celebrate my Irish heritage.
